FCRR Progress Monitoring and Reporting Network (PMRN)

General Information

Your Responsibility
Your use of the Progress Monitoring and Reporting Network (PMRN), K-2 Electronic Scoring Tool (K-2 EST), and 3-12 Web-based Assessment Module (3-12 WAM) confirms your agreement to and understanding of the terms and conditions. Henceforth, “the PMRN” will be used to refer to all three of these components.

You are responsible for keeping your PMRN User Name, Password, and personal Identifier confidential. The FCRR cannot be responsible for User errors or negligent use of the service as a result of:

  • Input errors or misuse of the service
  • Negligent handling of or sharing of Passwords leading to unauthorized access to accounts
  • Leaving a computer unattended during an online session (Click "Sign Out" to end a session)
  • Failure to report known incidents of unauthorized account access

Terms and Conditions
This Agreement between you and the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) contains the terms, conditions, and disclosures for the PMRN. The PMRN is maintained by the Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) as authorized and funded through Just Read, Florida! and the Reading First initiative. Infinity Software Development (ISD) in Tallahassee, Florida, hosts the PMRN. The requirements of section 1002.22 of the Florida Statutes and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) govern the access and use of the information within the PMRN. The FCRR and its agents are authorized recipients of student identifiable information. A copy of the notification to Florida’s district school superintendents that the FCRR is a sanctioned recipient of student data can be found in the FLDOE’s paperless communication system here.

At the district level, only the district school superintendent or the superintendent’s designee can grant access to the PMRN. At the school level, only the school principal or the principal’s designee can grant access. The superintendents, principals, and district reading contacts are provided access to the PMRN by the FCRR.

In order for access to be granted you must provide your full name (first and last), Identifier number, and E-mail address. When you have been granted access to the PMRN, you will be sent an E-mail containing your User Name and Password.

To use the PMRN, you will need to use certain types of computers with Internet access and to use compliant browser software. The installation, maintenance, and operation of those items are your responsibility. The FCRR is not responsible for any errors or failures of your computer equipment or Internet-connection software. The PMRN can be used at any time during the day or night; however, system maintenance or malfunctions may cause it to be unavailable at times.

Use of Password
Your Password is provided for your use and protection, and you agree: (a) not to disclose your Password or otherwise make it available to anyone else, (b) to use your Password as instructed, and (c) to promptly notify the FCRR of any loss or theft of your Password.

Suspension of Privileges
The FCRR may at any time, and in its sole discretion, limit or cancel your access to the PMRN. The FCRR reserves the right to cancel your access to the PMRN if you have not used the system in 90 days. All Passwords will be deleted annually in July and access privileges must be renewed.

Security Information

Encryption Technology
The PMRN uses 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology. With SSL, personal information can be trusted to arrive privately and unaltered to its destination. It is virtually impossible to decrypt a message protected with 128-bit encryption.

To take advantage of Secure Socket Layer technology with a high-level of encryption, your browser must support the 128-bit encryption. Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and above, Safari 2.0 and above, and Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and above, support this level of encryption.

Digital Certificate
The PMRN has been issued a digital certificate which guarantees the security of the site. The digital certificate ensures that the PMRN Website is authentic and that no other site can assume its identity.

Built-in Safeguards
In order to protect the security of student information, you should always Sign Out of the PMRN when your work is complete. The PMRN will automatically Sign Out Users after twenty (20) minutes of inactivity.

Firewalls
The PMRN uses an industry standard firewall to protect the system database and prevent unauthorized access.

User Name and Password
The PMRN requires you to type in your User Name and Password each time you begin a session. Access to your account is available only when there is an exact match of the User Name and Password.

E-mail
Messages sent by E-mail are not secure. Please do not use E-mail to send confidential student or teacher information to the FCRR.
